It comes after the retail giant partnered with Wiradjuri Artist Judith Young to release a collaboration that celebrates First Nations people and culture.

The collection sits across bedding, home décor, living and dining, featuring a beautiful range – including serving ware, candles, tea towels, candles, decorative pots, a quilt set, canvas art print and more.

Working closely with the Kmart team, Ms Young shared the important meanings of her artwork to ensure that it was applied to the product in a way that made sense to herself and a wider community.

Speaking of the collaboration, Ms Young said: ‘I want people to know what my work is about health, healing, joy and peace, speaking to the importance of a healthy mind, body and spirit.

‘This comes from connecting with country, eating well and listening to your surroundings. The collection is about covering yourself in a healthy way of living, from what you eat, drink, wear and sleep under.

Kmart’s General Manager of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability, Tracie Walker added: ‘As we work towards a more reconciled Australia, here at Kmart we strive to be a trusted and credible partner of First Nations people.

‘This involves continuing to be guided in our actions by listening to the voices and advice of First Nations People, which includes our own First Nations team members along with community leaders, our First Nations-owned suppliers and business partners.’

The range launched in stores and online from March 6.
