A brand new exhibition from UW–Madison’s Yeohyun Ahn, “Evolving Graphic Design,” can be on view from Could 24 – June 24 within the Artwork Lofts and Backspace Gallery (111 N Frances Road) at UW–Madison.
Ahn is an assistant professor within the Faculty of Training’s Artwork Division. She is the founding director of the venture Evolving Graphic Design, which offers exhibition and analysis alternatives for academically underrepresented graphic design educators within the US
For the exhibition “Evolving Graphic Design,” Ahn is the chief curator and collaborated with two affiliate curators, Taekyeom Lee, an assistant professor at Iowa State College, and Henrique Nardi, a lecturer within the Artwork Division at UW–Madison.

For a few years, graphic design was largely a predominantly white and European-centric subject rooted within the Bauhaus and print design rules. However visible design training is quickly shifting from a Western, print-centric space to a various, world one which eagerly employs rising expertise. This exhibition showcases evolving graphic design training, analysis, and strategies past print, crossing boundaries amongst inventive coding, 3D printing, guerrilla projection, speculative design, performative sound, information visualization, human-centered design, augmented actuality with activism, inclusive graphic design, and cultural id impacted by globalization.
A symposium associated the exhibition can be held June 23-24 within the Artwork Lofts Convention Room, and a closing reception will happen on Friday, June 24, at 6 pm
